While she's the villain in Season 1, and an antagonist in Season 2, Suigintou isn't your typical "mean bitch" character.
Her experiences with Shinku have made her bitter and angry, but she's not entirely without redemption. She is quite capable of feeling love, friendship, and kindness for people other than Father. The best way is for her to encounter someone who understands what it's like to be considered useless, and being able to sympathize with what she's been through. Another option would be for her to find a medium and make a contract with them, though her disdain for humanity and strong sense of independence would make this somewhat difficult, but not impossible. In either case, the progress would be slow, and she would deny any claims of showing a gentler side.
And now… for the mean bitch part.
She's got an inferiority complex like you wouldn't believe, along with low self esteem that's masked by her strong desire to become "Alice" and her belief on how she's best suited for it. Vindictive, sadistic, arrogant, coniving... She'll use whatever methods available to her, no matter how cruel or underhanded, in order to win the Alice Game. The main reason for such behavior is her strong wish to gain the attention of Father and have him acknowledge her.
As far as Shinku goes, take the 2nd half of the above paragraph, magnify it several times, and you'll get how she feels about her.
Also, being called "junk" or taunting her tragic background would most likely send Suigintou over the edge and make her more mentally unstable than she already is. While she's not naïve enough to be taken advantage of, her love for Father could certainly be exploited by a clever and skilled manipulator. |
| Abilities/Traits |
Suigintou's love for Father is the purest out of any of the dolls. When combined with her strong willpower, it lets her move around and use the full extent of her abilities without having to rely on a medium.
She has short-range teleportation, but her real abilities center on the two black wings sprouting from her back, which obviously allow her to fly. They're able to grow to immensely large sizes and reach over great distances, effectively allowing her to use them as projectiles by sending their large mass straight at her opponent. These wings can shoot a seemingly limitless amount of sharp, arrow-like feathers, and can be wrapped around her to protect the doll from attacks. She can also use them to create a large sword or change their shape into twin black dragons.
The wings are not indestructible though, and they can be cut off if enough force is used, but they would grow back in time.
The First Rozen Maiden seems to have the unique ability to possess other dolls and have them do whatever she wants. Her strongest attack, one she uses only when she gets desperate, is calling forth devastating blue flames.
All Rozen Maidens also carry an artificial spirit (seen as a glowing speck of colored light). The spirits can't talk, but they understand when their master speaks to them, and the doll in turn is able to understand/hear what they have to say. Spirits can assist their master's battles, or transmit their voice. The name of Sugitintou's spirit is Meimei.
Also, while unlikely, if she defeats another Rozen Maiden and takes their Rosa Mystica, not only would she become stronger, but she would gain the abilities of the defeated doll as well. Making a contract with a medium would also give her a power boost.
Her obsession with ruining Shinku has given her a bit of a strange ability in being able to tell exactly how many hours and minutes it's been since their last meeting. |
